Learning with the legal sector – online form

What does the legal sector you want to work in look like?

About the project

We have funding from the Scottish Government’s Workplace Equality Fund, to work with the legal sector in Scotland to create more positive working environments. Specifically, to work on gender-based violence and sexual harassment.

The project is a collaboration between the social enterprise JRS Knowhow and the Scottish Women’s Rights Centre. We are currently building an advisory group and we are preparing training materials that we will pilot with legal organisations across Scotland.

Our first module will be an introduction to sexual harassment in the workplace, how it interacts with gender inequality and employers’ obligations to provide a safe working environment. It will be piloted by an organisation and then rolled out more widely.

We don’t want to build boring elearning. We also don’t want to open with a series of shocking facts that leave learners feeling negative, deflated, vicariously traumatised or re-traumatised and shocked.

We want to begin by building a positive picture of the legal sector you want to see. The legal sector you would like to work in.

Interested? Read on to learn about how you can get involved.

Listening to your thoughts

We would love to hear from people who are about to start work in the legal sector. We want your feelings and thoughts to be what people hear at the start of an elearning course and during their inductions at new organisations.

  • What is your current perception of the legal sector?
  • What does the legal sector you want to work in look like?
  • How can people who currently work in the legal sector create a more positive working environment?

If you would like to, please let us know what you think in our short online form on Microsoft Forms. We are grateful for you time, your energy and your interest in the project. We are happy to talk about any barriers to completing the form, and are happy to provide alternative formats such as large print, paper or Braille.
